Since the last edition, the Consumer Duty July deadline has been and gone and we are into BAU but in the life of Financial Advice there is always something round the corner – change is a constant in the financial services arena.
At the beginning of August we saw the FCA publish CP22/24 – broadening access to financial advice for mainstream investments which will see change again (watch out for an article in the next edition). We have also included a link in the press releases and statements if you wish to read more.
As Consumer Duty is now a fait accompli, our first article is a look at the 10 questions the FCA have highlighted as being those that will be included in Consumer Duty supervisory visits, so best not to ignore!
Our technical article is always a favourite, a refresh on the personal tax allowances and a number of worked through examples as things have changed in this area too.
We’ve saved the most thought provoking article to finish this edition of Advice Matters. It’s a really interesting look at an area that everyone is talking about and will eventually make huge differences to the environment we all work in – Artificial Intelligence. This will either intrigue you or worry you, or both as it did us.
As usual if we can help further on any of the areas covered in the articles or the wider regulatory requirement remit, please get in touch: info@thezishi.com
