Course Overview
This course is intended to give participants an insight into the core skills and behavioural processes which lead to effective communication and the establishment of functional personal relationships within the organisation.
It will look at the importance of a planned approach to communication and the use of the core techniques of questioning and listening in interactions with other staff.
The course will also consider the importance of recognising generational differences in communication styles and methods and the impact these have on the levels of understanding across the generations both within the organisation and with customers of all ages.
This programme is intended to introduce the core concepts of communication effectiveness as the key to building sustainable interpersonal relationships in all areas of life.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Recognise the different factors involved in effective communication.
- Demonstrate their awareness of the importance of intrapersonal, interpersonal and cultural factors in communication.
- Understand the barriers to effective communication & different ways to approach and overcome these.
- Use psychological theory and models to facilitate communication.
- Use the models and theories introduced on the programme in a range of role play situations.
